Guides

Everything we learned buying and stress-testing proxy plans.

These guides answer the questions that decide your bill: how much bandwidth a crawl actually consumes, whether a cheaper pool costs more once you count retries, and which contract terms to avoid. Start with the proxy type breakdown, compare measured results in the provider reviews, and see the raw benchmark rules on how we test.

How we test proxies

Our benchmark methodology: 1M requests, 12 targets, three continents.

A five-minute buying checklist

  1. Define the target sites and monthly request volume before you look at any pricing page.
  2. Pick the cheapest proxy type that clears those targets — not the most premium one.
  3. Estimate GB used = average response size × requests × 1.3 for retries and headers.
  4. Run a trial and measure success rate and p95 latency, not just average speed.
  5. Cross-check your numbers against our benchmark table before signing an annual plan.
